Engineering Manager

Technology evolution, dependability and integrity are key to the ongoing success of Voltea’s business.

This Engineering Manager will be a crucial contributor to the successful completion of major projects to support the company’s business development efforts. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver all internal and external engineering services and enable small and high-volume production of components and systems.

The Engineering Manager will be a key member of management team, working closely with the COO, and will be responsible for technical team development and management, system and component design, and support of technology installed worldwide.

The position does not require expertise in capacitive deionisation or other electrochemical water treatment technologies but instead extensive experience in systems design, assembly and production with an absolute emphasis on the ability to finish tasks on-time/on-budget.

Functional Tasks

  • Build and facilitate the development of strong relationships and synergies with all areas of the company in order to achieve corporate goals, objectives and revenue targets.
  • Provide overall direction to the Product roadmap, developing internal resources as required to effect success in those areas.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations on the enhancement of existing processes and develop and document plans and systems for product development as required.
  • Manage the execution of multiple projects attending to all scheduling, budget and quality considerations.
  • Create an ethos and design processes that encourage and support product innovation, customer service, knowledge sharing and best practice development.
  • Be a hands-on leader who can mentor and develop and leverage key personnel, establishing Key Performance Indicators for competitive performance in completion of development projects and for rapid, realistic decisions on strategies, plans and projects.

Key Performance Deliverables

In light of the identified responsibilities, the following are specific deliverables that the position is designed to achieve.

  • Create an engineering team from internal and new resources to reflect the dynamics of a rapid growth technology company.
  • Support the creation of a product roadmap to meet current and future customer demands, support business strategy and enable profitable growth.
  • Develop and manage the entire Product Management process from concept to production.
  • Implement strict controls and processes on the transition from prototypes to Production.

Preferred Experience / Education

The following indicates specific industry, academic and functional experience/qualifications that are important to the successful achievement of the identified responsibilities and performance deliverables.

  • Proven experience in having revitalized and scaled engineering organizations through the judicious implementation of engineering development processes and methodologies.
  • 5+ years of experience of which at least 2 years were in a management role within an applicable environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to see solutions both in terms of efficiency and ROI.
  • PLC and electrical engineering experience a major plus.
  • Completed an advanced degree in a related field of Engineering.
  • Individuals with an appreciation of working within a start-up/early stage environment and exhibiting an entrepreneurial, customer-centric mindset will be preferred.

Compensation up to 80K euros.
